Looking for a Perkins 4-108 Maintenance Manual in new or good used condition. I presently own one but can’t read the wiring diagrams due to the book getting wet in past life. Thanks for your help Dave May GOD Bless You. |

Hi Dave, try contacting a Detroit Diesel Distributor, I know at one time there was a connection between Detroit Diesel and Perkins. Also you may want to contact Hansen Marine Engineering in Marblehead Ma. (sorry I don’t have the phone number). I used to work there on 4-108s.They were used as auxillary power for sailboats. They were made into marine engines by a company known as Westerbeke. |

Hello Tony Thanks for the reply. I will forward this info to the owner. How long ago did you live in Marblehead or that area. I’m originally from the Boston area(Somerville). My dad purchased his boat at Russo’s Marine in Medford, when the father was still running it. Sound familiar? I can get the phone number for Hansen .I used to work at Norwood airport @ Norwood Aviation back in 1980-83. Lived in Boston area for 28 years(Orr era) Thanks again.Dave ICEDOG Ober The #1 Bruins Fan in Daytona Beach. |

I’m not sure if you can help, but I’m looking for the zinc on my engine….. looks like it may be on top behind the reservoir…. sp… I have a manual but it doesn’t refer to the zinc’s at all…. which really is strange since I’m sure they are there someplace…… |

I am rebuilding a Perkins Deisel engine on a Massey Ferguson tractor. I need a manual or information on torqueing specifications, etc. It is a Massey Ferguson 135, 3 cylinder |

Any specks and manual ??? |

I bought the tractor, the engine was taken apart. I had to buy another engine for the block. I need to know torqueing specs. to rebuild the engine. Can anyone send these to me if you have a book on this tractor or do you know where I can find this information? |

I have a 6 cylinder turbo charge model 2900 and I would like to know what H.P. it is and if it will be a good motor to put in a 23′ boat for a tow boat ? |
Homer Price3/18/2003 20:33:16 |
My guess would be that it is probably an 80 to 100 HP and would be enough power for anything really. Do you have the specs for torquing this engine? If you call a dealer and give them the serial number off the engine they can tell you the horsepower. Any Massey Ferguson or anyone who handles Perkins Deisel engines, or Perkins Deisel Parts people. Some of the Fords carry Perkins engines, etc. My Clark Fork lift has a 4 cyl, Perkins Deisel engine for example |

I am rebuilding a Perkins Deisel engine on a Massey Ferguson tractor. I need a manual or information on wiring diagrams. It is a Massey Ferguson 135, 3 cylinder. I am also wondering if i can switch a generater out for an alternator and how to wire it up. If you would please reply back asap. |

get a Chevrolet alternator with the box built in. tie together both wires to the battery that is all there is to it. I have also seen them with one wire jumped over to the other. That is the same thing as tying them together. You have a plug that plugs onto the alternator. That wire needs to be tied in with the hot wire. Then it should show charging. I need the torqueing information for head bolts etc. You wouldn’t happen to have that would you? |

I am also looking for the perkins 4-108 manual. Seems I stupidly put too much oil in the engine and blew the front gasket. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I typed in Hansen Marine, came up with 6-8 web sites, wnet into one titled Welcome and got the following info: The Home of Hansen Marine Engineering, Inc.32 Tioga Way · Marblehead, MA 01945Phone: 800-343-0480 · Worldwide: 781-631-3282Fax: 781-639-1467 · email: hansen@hansenmarine.comI emailed them and they have the manual I need, I have been so busy working on the log house I haven’t had time to work on the tractor besides the house is now in the dry and with our monsoon 🙂 tractor work is not a priority if you understand–but Hansen Marine does have the manual. You can email them the model and serial numbers and they will tell you how much it is and send it to you. Good luck! |
